Overall I think that my project to create a promo video for Steve garner the owner of Glendower bed and breakfast was very successful. I managed my time and tasks well making sure to get them done as soon as possible and to a good standard. There was a lot of work to do for my blog but I managed to do it well. I really enjoyed the filming days I had, as they were very interesting to explore filming on something that I had not done or come across before. This is great for developing my skills and for putting in my portfolio as something I have done and created because it always great to explore more and new skills to give you a better range of experience, and I have gained a lot of new information and experience to better my skills for the future. It was fun to conduct an interview with my client as this was another technique that I had not done before but doing it very exciting to experiment with and gain experience from it. Although I was behind with some work as I had a day off ill, I still managed to catch up quickly and get my work done.

Evaluation of First Shoot Day
I arrived at the B&B and met with Steve, we had a discussion about what my ideas were and what I had in mind for the video. He then went on to tell me what the main selling points were for his B&B. He then went on to say that he couldn’t have an interview today as he wanted to jot some notes down on what he wanted to include in the interview, and also he had to be somewhere. Steve then left me to go round the house filming the rooms and the house. I set my camera up and tripod and went in each room taking shots, it took me a couple of hours to get all the rooms filmed and done. Overall I was there for a good 2-3 hours going round the house filming, I also made sure to include some outside shots of the house, to give people a decent first expression.

Contingency Plan
If my client is busy with something that day and would interrupt my filming then I can always arrange another day to come back and film with him, whether it be later on that day, or on one of the next few days in the week.
I shouldn’t have any problems with equipment as I know how to operate and manage the cameras and the microphone and anything else that I may need.
If one of the rooms that I would like to film in has a guest staying in it and won’t allow me to film in there, than I can always come back later on after my rough edit, this way I can see if I really need that shot of the room.
Audience Profile
My audience profile that my promo video is aimed at will be people who are searching for a B&B on travel websites such as TripAdvisor, mainly tourists looking specifically at bed and breakfasts in Dereham, whether they be travelling through, on a business trip, or wanting to get away on a vacation to the town of Dereham. Although there is a wide age range that visit Glendower B&B, varying from 20’s all the way to people at the age of 60. The age range that I am aiming it as a lot different as the people that use social media and the internet are a lot younger than 60, although people of old age can still view my promo video, I will still make my video to fit the target audience for the B&B.
My promo video is to inform people about the B&B, showing them what’s in store for them if they are considering staying there. This can give the target audience a better feel for the place, and also approach to a younger audience through the use of a video on social media.

Example Research
I have looked into a few examples of some other B&B’s promotional videos to get an idea of the codes and conventions that apply to this genre of informational videos. One of the examples that I looked a was mostly made of out of focus pans of the rooms and then gains focus, transitioning between shots with fades having mostly extreme close ups of flowers, food, and lights.
Video Technique Ideas
For my video piece on Glendower B&B I would like to include a voice over to use when showing images and footage of the house, rooms, and the garden. This is just to showcase the entire house to the viewers so they get a good idea of what to expect before booking rooms there. I will sit down with the owner and have an interview with him to get a bit of history on the house, a little information about him to give people watching a more friendly feeling when watching. I can then cut out the footage from the interview and use it for voice overs if he speaks about something relevant to the house or the local area. For example within the interview he speaks about what rooms they have and what they feature, I can show this in the video along side him speaking it, giving it a more free flowing video, rather than having it all separated, this can make the transitions between shots a lot more smooth.
Evaluation of Pitch
I think that my evaluation
went well; I covered everything such as my idea, the visual style and
techniques I will be using. I felt that I got across my idea well to the
lecturer and the class that were viewing.
I presented my pitch in a professional manner and explained my ideas
well. The feedback I got from the lecturer was to make sure that I include an
interview and use it for a voice over so I can include other shots that may
refer to what he is saying. Also to get any testimonials from guests to get
their opinions and views on what they thought of the service.

Project Proposal
Task 4-Project Proposal
‘SkyDart Productions- Aiming for Perfection’
Client/Title: Glendower B&B Owner/Manager Steve Garner/Glendower Promo Video
I am hoping to create a short promo video to promote Glendower B&B to give people an example of what they are in for before they book there. It can feature on their website or Facebook page for guests to watch.
Project Aims/My Idea: My intentions for this video is to have a tour of the house so people can get a good understanding of the quality and style of the place, and generally get a better feel for the place, rather than looking at a few pictures on their page. I’m thinking of going for a calm relaxed style video using slow music to fit the style of camerawork that I will be doing, such as having slow pans, and high angles to get the whole room in shot to give a perfect first impression for people watching. I aim to make a high quality video that represents the B&B as well as possible showing off the perks and positives of staying at such a lovely home.
Logo
To make myself recognised and to add a more professional look to my blog and myself, I decided to create a logo.
I wanted to keep the design simple, yet still look professional, I decided the name fit well with the design as I wanted to go for a classy look. I came up with my slogan which is "Aiming for Perfection" which I think goes well with the name.

Idea Creation
Task 2- Idea Creation
Idea 1: One of my ideas is to do a promotional video for Glendower B&B in Dereham, my idea is to make a promo for their B&B to raise peoples awareness about it and tell people a bit about the house to gain their interest, I could do this by having a tour of the house showing people what they have to offer. I could also have a testimonial from one of the guests staying there to get their opinion on what they thought of the service and the accommodation. My client would be the owner of Glendower B&B, Steve Garner. He would be the one that asked me what to make for him such as a recruitment video, promotional video or anything else. He also tells me what he wants to include in the video and anything he doesn’t. It would be good to work for him as he lives within walking distance and I could easily walk down and film without having to find a way of transporting any equipment I may need. The service that I will be highlighting with a video is why you should come and stay at Glendower B&B when visiting Dereham, showing people the perks of staying there. The potential audience that will be seeing my video are people visiting dereham or passing through and need a place to stay whilst on their trip.
Production Management
Task 1- Production management
Production management – A project manager is someone who is in charge of everything, they control the Pre-production, the production, and the post-production side. The role of a production management is to come up with an idea and do all the paperwork for it such as the proposal, research, target audience, risk assessments. They have to keep everything and everyone sorted and organised to show that they have good team leader skills, challenges that they face will be things such as sorting dates with clients that both suit their preferences.
